COCOXIM has received the prestigious 2026 Superior Taste Award from the International Taste Institute in Brussels

We are delighted to announce to our Czech and Slovak customers a major achievement by the COCOXIM brand, which we exclusively distribute in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 2026, select coconut products from the Vietnamese manufacturer Betrimex received the prestigious international Superior Taste Award, presented by the International Taste Institute in Brussels.

This award is among the most respected certifications of taste quality in the food and beverage industry and is often compared to the Michelin Guide in the world of food and beverages.

What is the International Taste Institute?

The International Taste Institute is an independent Belgian organization based in Brussels that specializes in professional sensory evaluation of food and beverages. Products are evaluated here by expert juries composed of professional chefs and sommeliers from across Europe.

The evaluation takes the form of a “blind tasting,” in which the judges do not know the brand or manufacturer of the product. The emphasis is placed exclusively on the taste experience itself.

Products are evaluated according to five main sensory criteria:

  • first impressions,
  • appearance,
  • aroma,
  • taste,
  • aftertaste.

The entire process is conducted in accordance with the strict guidelines of the International Hedonic Sensory Analysis Criteria.

How does the star rating system work?

The Superior Taste Award is granted only to products that achieve a minimum score of 70% in the overall evaluation. The organization uses a three-star rating system:

  • ⭐ 1 star – a high-quality product (70–80 %)
  • ⭐⭐ 2 stars – an exceptional product (80–90 %)
  • ⭐⭐⭐ 3 stars – an exceptionally excellent product (nad 90 %)

A three-star rating represents the very best in this category.
